Super Matcha Ice Cream

I always keep frozen bananas in the fridge for things like smoothies and banana ice cream. Ripen your bananas until well spotted – this ensures a better flavour but also they become easier to digest once the sugars are converted into simple sugars (a great thing to do if you have problems digesting bananas). A high powered blender like a vitamix or blendtec is essential for making banana ice cream. With all the great things you can do with a high powered blender it is worth the investment! When freezing bananas remove the peel, break in half and freeze in freezer bags.

What you will need: high powered blender, ice cream bowls and spoons




2 – 3 Servings




  • 4 frozen bananas
  • 2 tsp matcha powder
  • 2 tsp chlorella
  • 1 tsp vanilla powder




  1. Place all the ingredients into a high powered blender and blend until well combined into an ice cream- like texture. If your blender includes a tamper tool to help with the blending, this is the time to use it. If not, stop the blender often and push contents down with a spoon.  Enjoy this recipe or create your own flavours for a healthy ice cream alternative!
