Grain-free Nori Crackers

If you’re trying to eat healthier or avoiding certain foods, making foods from scratch can help you achieve both. These seed crackers are easy to make and to customize with any flavours you like. Try adding in sundried tomatoes or olives for a more flavourful cracker. This version is made with nori, a seaweed used to make sushi, for a great boost in minerals.

What you will need: cookie sheet, parchment paper, mixing bowl, rolling pin

Makes-

about 25 crackers

 

Ingredients

 

  • 1 cup flax seeds, ground
  • ¼ pumpkin seeds, ground
  • ¼ cup sunflower seeds, ground
  • 1 nori sheet, coarsely ground
  • 2 tbsp black sesame seeds
  • ½ tsp himalayan salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ cup filtered water
  • 1 tsp tamari

 

Instructions

 

  1. Preheat oven to 375° and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper
  2. In a mixing bowl add in the ground flax, pumpkin, sesame and nori to the bowl along with all the spices and sesame seeds, mix to combine
  3. Add in the water and tamari and mix together until a dough forms
  4. Roll out onto a parchment paper lined cookie sheet, making sure to roll out evenly to the edges
  5. score the crackers with a knife to any size of cracker you desire
  6. Place in the oven for about 30 minutes until middle is crisp and edges are lightly browned
  7. Break apart the crackers along the score line once cooled and enjoy :)
